Kingdom 101: Kingdom of Kings Pt 2
Now let us continue: Every situation where there has been an extended reign of an oppressive regime in any nation, such as oppression of a communist ideology or apartheid in South Africa, or even here in the southern part of the United States pertaining to slavery; when deliverance came, the enslaved people rejoiced. It was like steam being released from a pressure cooker. That was because they hated oppression. We are all human beings, and have the same Creator and Source. We were not created to be dominated but to dominate in every area of our life. At the same time, how many kinds of things do we allow to dominate our lives? We are created to have dominion over plants and yet, how many allow plants to run (and ruin) their lives. Many people allow the coca leaves (for cocaine), tobacco leaves (cigarettes, chewing tobacco, snuff, cigars), poppies (opium and heroin), grapes and grains (wine and alcohol) to dominate them. We are subject to all kinds of vices that rule over our appetites. Remember, always return to God's original plan. We are supposed to rule our passions and desires: sex, greed, drugs, power, money and possessions. Instead, they often rule us. The question is, Why is this? Read what King Jesus stated before He returned to His Father:
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” You need the power of the Holy Spirit if you really look forward to being a conqueror. By the way, that isn't up for debate! There are many individuals who live and work for money and material things, thinking it produces freedom. All along they slowly and seductively become a slave to the very things that they are working for. In the process, they develop a slave mentality. Keep in mind, those who are slaves of money, will never get ahead. That is a poverty mindset. Money is temporary, as everything else on this earth is.
Remember, obeying the Lord Jesus' Word will always bring you to the top. Jesus is the Word. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. We must all be of the same mind. One of the first things that happened to the early church was directly related to the entire issue of dominion. Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
Acts 1:8 John 1:14 Acts 4:32-35
