Kingdom 101: Building a Kingdom Mentality
Allow me to share this with you: If you don't understand the Kingdom concept thoroughly, you will have a problem understanding the Lord God's Constitution.
Concept: 1) A general idea or understanding of something; 2) A plan or original idea; 3) A unifying idea or theme; 4) A notion or statement of an idea, expressing how something might be done or accomplished, that may lead to an accepted procedure; 5) A rule or regulation--a principle or condition that customarily governs behavior.
It all depends on whether or not we have a Kingdom mentality or Kingdom mindset. An individual who has a Kingdom mentality will always view God's Constitution (the Bible) as "am I doing the Will of the King for my life?" They will always humble themselves to the Will of the Counselor (the Holy Spirit). Remember, those who have embraced the Kingdom concept never puts themselves out as someone great, but as one who always honors and lifts up the name of the King. “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me...However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. Nowhere did the Comforter (Holy Spirit) glorify Himself.
The one with a Kingdom mentality will never make a statement concerning the Holy Spirit, such as "Come get into the Holy Spirit" Why? Because the Holy Spirit will be in you, not you in Him.
In my investigation into the concept of the Kingdom, it has convinced me that the success of our lives hinges upon how well we understand and obey His written Word. “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
King Jesus knew the Father and obeyed Him. What does that say about us? When Jesus was speaking to the religious leaders, hear what He stated: Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
A Kingdom mindset is always thinking in terms of obeying the Kingdom government laws and principles, not in terms of religious rules, customs or traditions.
