It Was a Lost Concept
The Kingdom concept was lost in the invasion of religion. It was usurped with it's rules, traditions, ceremonies and false doctrines that had nothing to do with the Kingdom of God. It came about through heathens, as they were called, who were worshiping false gods. The Lord God created a government, in which He was King and the Source, but mankind created a religion. This all started to unfold after the fall of mankind in the garden.
Keep in mind, the Kingdom concept has been lost to the contemporary human culture, especially here in the United States. Unfortunately, there are many mini-cultures that are very distracting from the Kingdom culture. Many people embrace these cultures as their own, but, in reality, they are devices that hinder and separate the people from embracing the Kingdom government. It is because of their ignorance of the Kingdom concept that many people find it difficult to fully understand the Lord God’s Constitution, the Bible. This is the key reason that there are so many denominations among religious groups. They are a serious source of division among God’s people. The evil one has been quite successful in keeping the people from the Truth. Now, what is truth? When the Lord Jesus was praying to His Father while He was here on earth, He made this statement: I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. John 17:15-17
The only absolute, unshakable, unchangeable truth is God’s Word.
Remember, it is His Word that will keep us. The concept of the Kingdom government is all throughout the Old Testament. King David was a good example: Then all the tribes of Israel went to David at Hebron and told him, “We are your own flesh and blood. In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the Lord told you, ‘You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be Israel’s leader.’”
So, there at Hebron, King David made a covenant before the Lord with all the elders of Israel. And they anointed him king of Israel. David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in all. He had reigned over Judah from Hebron for seven years and six months, and from Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah for thirty-three years. 2 Samuel 5:1-5
One of the elements of the Kingdom concept is to only have one leader, not a panel who vote on every decision. It is not one where everyone gets a vote. It is a monarchy, not a democracy. Religion has these things—they have boards and committees, and members may even expect to vote on every decision!
In the Kingdom, you are only obligated to the King’s Word. It is His Word that you live by. The King’s Word is law. It is our light and it is our very life eternal! Whenever you take the time to read, study and apply His Word to your life, you are eating His body. So, Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you cannot have eternal life within you. But anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise that person at the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. Anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in me, and I in him. I live because of the living Father who sent Me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on Me will live because of Me. I am the true bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will not die as your ancestors did (even though they ate the manna) but will live forever.” John 6:53-58
Many didn’t understand that saying at that time and it is still the same today. But keep in mind what John said in God’s Constitution: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:12-14 NKJV Yes! The Word was made flesh, He walked among us and His name was Jesus the Christ, Son of God!
According to our King and Lord, the most important priority and preoccupation of all mankind should be seeking and studying the heavenly Kingdom government and its administration. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. So, don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:33-34
Our lives should reflect His Kingdom government wherever we go. A Kingdom mindset will be reflected in your lifestyle and behavior in your community, region and around the world. Everywhere you go, the Kingdom of God goes.
I highly recommend studying Matthew 23 and understand where King Jesus stood concerning the religious.
Remember, your faith in His Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
