April--Week Seventeen
Article: Your Faith in the King and His Word
- The Lord Jesus gave us an eternal promise, if we only trust and believe in Him. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:16-17
- Having total faith and trust in King Jesus will seal His promise of eternal life with you. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment. John 3:36
- It is very important that we trust in the King and acknowledge Him in all we do. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
- Fear and anxiety cannot coexist with faith and trust. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. NKJV Philippians 4:6-7

Article: Trust = Submission
- Trust is not common in our country today. Most of us have not experienced complete trust in someone. People, being human, have let us down. Trust, once broken, is very difficult to rebuild. That hurt affects our ability to totally trust God. It takes time renewing our mind and emotions with God's Word and prayer time to be free to trust in the Lord and submit to His will. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
- Trust is submitting to God's will for your life, over your will. We think we know what is best for our life. But God sees what we do not. He knows our end from our beginning. He doesn't "live in time" as we do. Trusting Him is being able to see that and know that He knows what is best for us, far more than we do. We are really making decisions about our life blindly compared to what God sees. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9
- Prayers are always answered, God always hears you. It just may not be answered in the way you thought it would. Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like Me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish. Isaiah 46:9-10
- True peace comes when we submit our will to God's will. Do you trust Him enough to thank Him when He doesn't answer your prayer as you asked? Can you thank Him for sparing you from a wrong decision or for keeping you from getting off track and away from His purpose for your life? "...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

Article: Mankind's Refusal to Answer to His Creator
- It is vital that we use our faith in Him to see the big picture of Creation. Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see...By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:1, 3
- It is because of the lack of faith in his Creator's command that man fell from grace. It takes faith and trust to obey the Lord God command. It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. Hebrews 11:8-10
- The key action to pleasing the Lord God is your total faith in His Word. It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:5-6

Article: The Origin and Truth of Leadership
- If you truly want to become a great leader, you must learn how to follow. To lead, is to serve. Moses had Joshua for his assistant. After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you. Joshua 1:1-3
- Elijah had Elisha for his assistant. When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal. And Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel.”
But Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you!” So they went down together to Bethel. 2 Kings 2:1-2
- We have the Holy Spirit as our Governor and assistant. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’ John 16:13-15

Article: Your Eternal Future Hinges on His Promise
- When the King makes a promise to His children and citizens, they are guaranteed. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:20
- In order for you to inherit eternal life, you must first know your priorities when it comes to having things and to allowing things to have you. That is only possible through the Lord Jesus and His gift of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you. Priorities!
Someone came to Jesus with this question: Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”
“Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep the commandments.”
“Which ones?” the man asked.
And Jesus replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“I’ve obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied. “What else must I do?”
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Matthew 19:16-21
- Regardless of what you may think you have lost—friends, family, houses, land, money, etc.—He promises that you will receive eternal life. That is priceless and worth far more than anything else. “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life. But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.” Mark 10:29-31
