His Name is Jesus, Immanuel
King Jesus' name was given to Him by His Father God from a heavenly messenger. This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.
As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” Keep in mind, His name was assigned to Him long before His birth on this earth. The Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). The Lord Jesus was God sent down to earth by His Father.
Only if you believe in the Lord God's Son, will you have eternal life. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him."
The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
Regardless of what some religious groups say concerning His name, the Lord Jesus is the mediator between the Lord God and all of mankind. For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone. Ambassador Paul made that very clear when writing to brother Timothy. Jesus the Christ is the mediator of a new covenant. By the way, covenant isn't a religious word, but a legal word. So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. With His own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—He entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is why He is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
No matter what language you may speak, His name is still the same. His name is Jesus the Christ. Each language may pronounce it slightly different, but His name is still that powerful name...Jesus...our deliverer, our Savior! There is no other name given except the name of Jesus the Christ where mankind can be delivered. For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
For all that He has done for us, we should give His name praise publicly, regardless of those around us. Mention His name, "Jesus"! Give Him the credit for all He has done for you and yours. A word of advice. Don't get caught up in religious debates concerning His name. Religious debates are a distraction from the Kingdom! His name is Jesus the Christ. Keep faith in His name, for He is King. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey Him, bringing glory to His name. And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus that people were healed. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
It is the name of Jesus that gets people's attention, through faith. “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes." It is through faith in His name that the power of the Kingdom is released.
Do you remember the woman with the constant flow of blood and what the King said to her? It was her faith in the man named Jesus. Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind Him. She touched the fringe of his robe, for she thought, “If I can just touch His robe, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment. Keep in mind that the woman was focused on Jesus. It is so important to stay in His Word; to keep our focus on King Jesus. The enemy is using many distractions to keep the Lord's citizens from receiving their healing. Remember what the Lord Jesus' command to us was: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Your faith in the Word of God is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
