Forever a Kingdom Never a Religion

A kingdom is a type of government where a king rules over the territory and any colonies he has acquired. He makes laws and decrees. He takes care of his citizens. His word is absolute and the people cannot change his laws and decrees. There are no committees or boards to undo his commands.
The Holy Spirit is mankind’s bridge to our heavenly Kingdom. From the very beginning it was the presence of the Holy Spirit—our Kingdom Governor—that gave them authority and the ability to have dominion over their environment. I am speaking of the very beginning of the creation of man. As I have stated in earlier articles, the primary issue of mankind is one of power, the ability to influence and control life’s circumstances. Even after the fall of mankind, we desire this ability because we were designed to fulfill our original assignment as deputy governors on this earth. We have this desire in us because God gave us dominion when He spoke it: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28
Keep in mind; the Lord God created earth for mankind to rule. God’s Constitution confirms this: The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men. Psalm 115:16 Let us view humanity’s assignment from another perspective: A prince who is the king’s heir does not ascend to the throne if the King is still alive. The only way that might occur (apart from a king abdicating his throne) is for the King’s heir to go to another territory to occupy and rule. While the heir is in the same territory as the king, which is his father, he still remains a prince. However, if the heir lives in a foreign country or territory, he can rule as sovereign, while the king—his father—still rules the home country.
This is what the Lord will do on the new earth. Remember, the King of the invisible realm of heaven is eternal. Our King cannot die. No one will ever succeed Him on His heavenly throne. As it is written in Psalm 93: The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. Psalm 93:1-2
Also remember, His Kingdom is an everlasting unchanging Kingdom. They shall speak of the glory of Your Kingdom, and talk of Your power, to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His Kingdom. Your Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. Psalm 145:11-13
This wasn’t a last minute, spur of the moment thought. The Lord God prepared the earthly colony before He created the first man and woman. Everything was done in order to His plan. He first designed the perfect physical environment for His children in which to rule. God gave him dominion, and one law to obey. Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:15-17
The message of the creation of mankind is practical, it is structured and ordered, as is God’s Kingdom. He gave mankind a territory of heaven and dominion over that territory. He also gave boundaries and laws to be submitted to Him. “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God” Deuteronomy 28:1-2
“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.” Deuteronomy 28:15
It isn’t about a religion, as we have been told down through the ages. It isn’t about traditions and rituals. It is the order, structure and hierarchy of a government. It is about the role of a King over His territory, those He gives dominion and authority, and the transformation of the territory into the manifestation of His Kingdom. That territory—or colony—should reflect the heavenly Kingdom from which it came. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. Psalm 8:3-6
Remember, your faith is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
