Find Your Purpose in This World
You must realize that your fulfillment in this life is dependent on your becoming and doing what you were born to be and do. Anything less than that makes life your enemy and death your friend. Keep in mind, it is essential, vital, crucial and necessary that you understand this fundamental principle of purpose and pursue it with all your heart. For without purpose, life has no heart. Remember, those who don't know where they are going will probably end up someplace else; doing a good thing, but not the right thing that God the Father has purposed for them. Keep this in mind also, that doing good is not necessarily being right. Always check with the Father to assure yourself that you are in line with His purpose for your life.
Constitutional Scripture: I Corinthians 9:26 Paul stated: Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
Until your purpose is discovered, existence has no meaning, for your purpose is the source of fulfillment for your life. Human beings, no matter who they are or where they live, all want to be "successful". This success is usually defined by the superficial rewards that are so glorified by the media: wealth, power, fame, luxury and prestige. The goal of material achievement is drilled into us from an early age, for those of us who had both father and mother. If many of you were like me, you were trying to survive. The parents of this world urge their children to work hard and get a good education so they can be "somebody". What they failed to realize is that you are somebody, you just needed to be cultivated by the Word of God. Schools add to the pressure by using competitive grading and by offering rewards for outstanding performances.
If you were to take a few hours of your day and visit Barnes & Nobles or Books A Million book stores, you will discover they are loaded with manuals that instruct readers how to get to the top of their fields so they can accumulate power, wealth and influence. You will see magazines, complete with cover photos that glamorize the rich and famous, boldly promising shortcuts to success. Keep this in mind, this relentless pursuit of "success" has produced some unglamorous results: divorce and suicide are continually climbing at staggering rates--violence and environmental destruction and white collar crime plague every community--emotional depression, particularly in men and women in low economic and depressed areas. These categories have multiplied several times over, especially among the people of color.
Remember, the internal benchmarks that denote personal and corporate fulfillment are noticeably missing from our world, and a positive sense of direction that encompasses the totality of life is obviously lacking for the majority of people.
