Fatherlessness Is the Source of Sin
Do you know what it is to be without a father in your home or your life? I surely do. My mother had to take on the role of father and mother in my life; and I must say she did a very good job. My biological father had another family somewhere else. This was told to me years later by my mother; that was why she left him, besides the beatings he used to put on her. Regardless how many times she was disappointed by marriage, she kept her faith in Christ and trained me according to the principles of the Constitution--better known as the Bible. By the way, it is difficult growing up in New York City without a father, but it will cause you to be a wiser and stronger person.
After reading several of Dr. Myles Munroe's books, as well as studying them, I realize now that the root of sin is the absence of real fathers in our homes, communities and the world. The sin problem is a fatherhood problem, because sin is the result of a man who declared independence from God, who was his Source and Father. Adam, which was his name, believed that he didn't need a father and that he would be a father without the Father. By the way, the same thing is happening among our men today. This is because their fathers failed in their responsibility and their fathers before them. It's called a domino effect. That is when the human race fell into rebellion against God.
Keep in mind, Adam became a fatherless child, yet Adam himself had children whom he infected with fatherlessness. Remember this, Adam's first child was not Cain. His first offspring that came out of him was Eve, a female. (Genesis 2:20-24)
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22) And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24) Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Remember, a father can create, or generate, in his children only what he has received from his father. A father is the source, the creator, the generator and the progenitor. The future generations can receive only what the father gives them. Now since Adam rejected his Father, the only inheritance he had to give the future generations was sin and death; a fatherless inheritance.
Something else I would like to mention. So often women are lost and making many mistakes like my mother did in her life, because their husbands do not understand the full ramification of fatherhood as God intended. What they need is a man who can teach them about the Father, God. Keep this in mind, without fathers, there is a curse upon women and future generations.
