Facing Life Successfully and Effectively Pt 2
Let's pick up where we last left off:
We must know what is our responsibility. I want you to know that I am in my purpose and my gifting as I write. This is my responsibility to you. Just as we are responsible for some things, we are not responsible for other things. A great example is Judas Iscariot, who managed to betray Jesus while He was on earth. Jesus' responsibility was to lead and teach His disciples, but He wasn't responsible for their actions. He taught them the Kingdom concept. Judas chose to embrace another choice.
Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.
Even the Lord God Himself isn't responsible for our free will. He will influence our choices and give us every opportunity to make right choices, but He will not make choices for us. Remember Jesus the Christ died on the cross for us. He freely gave His life for us, shedding His blood so that we could be forgiven of our disobedience (sin). Then He rose from the dead as a guarantee that all who turn to Him will receive eternal life. King Jesus did all this, and yet He still cannot save us without our permission. Even the King knows His limitations.
Please note that it is a self-imposed limitation. Otherwise, it would be violating the free will He gave us and that is a line He will not cross. There are some things we are not responsible for. Successful living means knowing our boundaries.
Next, we must know what we cannot do. Basically, this sums up the other three. Success in life means learning not to walk in guilt over circumstances or consequences over which you have no control. You are responsible for living a life that will affect others so that they will see the glory of the King in your life. Your life should be in line with God's written Word. How many of us get caught up in the "if onlys" of regret, often over matters we could not have changed then, anymore than we could change now. Believe me when I say, that is no way to live. Contentment and success in life comes when you acknowledge that there are some things you cannot do. Most of all, total contentment comes when you totally trust in His Word. I cannot emphasize that enough.
Luke 22:3-6
