Equality in God's Kingdom
There is no economic or social status in the Kingdom.
Those who are used to the perks and privileges of a high financial and social status in this world will usually have great difficulty surrendering it all to be a part of the Kingdom of God. In God’s Kingdom we are equal in our King’s sight. Jesus said to His disciples, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it is difficult for a rich man [who clings to possessions and status as security] to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man [who places his faith in wealth and status] to enter the Kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23-24 AMP This cuts deep into our problems today in our world. Too often people in this world build their self esteem and self worth upon their financial and social status. When you touch the “economic nerve”, you hit the most sensitive nerve in our society. How many times have we heard of a wealthy, famous person “losing it all” and committing suicide? Without wealth and position, they have no self worth and nothing to live for. Seeking after money, power and status is fruitless. It will always leave them wanting “more”. Pointless! But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
While King Jesus was here on earth, He asked the disciples this question: Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Luke 12:25 NLT The god of this fallen world has blinded the minds of those who aren’t in the Kingdom of God. They see what some people in the world have and they desire to be like that also. The lust for more takes over, and lust is never satisfied. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 Even many who are religious and consider themselves Christian are blinded by status and material possessions and cannot be citizens in the Kingdom of God without repenting and breaking the hold status and possessions have on them. Then Jesus said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”. . . “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” Luke 12:15 & 21 NLT
There is no higher status in this present world or the next than to be a citizen of God's Kingdom and son of the Lord God. For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are His heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. Galatians 3:26-28 NLT You are joint heirs with Jesus, grafted in sons and daughters of the most high God! The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:16-17
God’s Word is Truth, yesterday, today and forever. Heaven and earth will pass away but His Word will remain and never pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Mark 13:31
Remember that in the Lord God’s unshakable Kingdom there are no inferiorities as mankind has in this world. There is no room for hereditary or financial social status. We are as our King sees us. As far as I am concerned, it doesn’t matter where an individual comes from, what family they are born into or what sins they have committed before coming into the Lord God’s Kingdom. What peaks my interest is where they are going! Kingdom-minded citizens look toward the future, not the past. But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things left behind] is fit for the Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 AMP
Those who are Kingdom citizens are never concerned with a brother or sister’s past. They are interested in the present and the future and let “the dead bury their dead”. King Jesus made that statement when speaking to a religious leader: But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me [believing in Me as Master and Teacher], and allow the [spiritually] dead to bury their own dead.” Matthew 8:22 AMP The past is buried in the love of our Lord God, the present is guided by our Governor—Holy Spirit—and the future is unfolding in the love of our King Jesus.
Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]. 1 Corinthians 15:58 AMP
Once again, I remind you, your faith in the King is your most powerful asset in the Kingdom.
