Understanding Leadership
Several years ago, I came across Dr. Munroe's teaching. I must say, it wasn't an accident, but a divine completion of God's purpose for my life. That was the same time that I met the woman who was to be my wife, little did I know.
What I have learned is this: "Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by a passion, generated by a vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose". Through Dr. Munroe, I have come to learn, understand and embrace the kingdom concept.
I have come to understand the process by which an individual becomes a true leader. There must be an enabling within him to lay a strong foundation for his character. The father and mother are the key components for laying a strong foundation. This comes through teaching and training your children. Not by being their friend. Children need parents that will lead them and guide them through exercising God's principles in their lives.
Leaders are formed in this manner: An individual discovers their purpose. As a result of this discovery, they develop a conviction about what they should be doing with their life as well as convictions or foundations (beliefs about how they should live). Their convictions prompt them to conceptualize a clear vision of a preferred future that will enable them to pursue their purpose in a practical way. This vision gives them the passion to carry out their purpose. Their passion inspires others to embrace their vision. As others are inspired, they are influenced to take action to assist them to fulfill their vision. Keep in mind, the evidence of a leader's positive influence on others is the manifestation of their leadership.
Remember, in all that you do, get an understanding. King Solomon put it this way: Wisdom is the principle thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
Proverbs 4:7
