There Is No Substitute
As I view the world from the standpoint of leadership. I notice we are living in difficult social and economic times when we must refocus on the priority of character, especially in our government and over so-called religious leaders.
Character is the foundation for all aspects of effective leadership. Authority, gifts, skills, knowledge, experience, expertise, etc are integral elements of leadership; but they should not take the place of character. Remember, unless you want to see the conditions of our world grow increasingly worse; and unless you disregard, such as Dr Martin Luther King Jr or Dr Myles Munroe and other great leaders; then we can't move into the future with the same methods and values of leadership that we are employing today.
All leaders should be encouraged to value integrity so that they will not turn away from their ethical standards and thereby sacrifice the great potential they possess. In all that you do, remember your Creator has created you with potential. Allow Him to lead you. King David put it this way: For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore for Your name's sake Lead me and guide me". As Dr. Munroe stated, "Character matters to the world". This is the key to inspirational leadership. Keep in mind, people need the encouragement and influence of genuine leaders if they are to fulfill their own purpose and to live powerful and productive lives. Character safeguards the well-being of those who are under the authority of leaders or one otherwise affected by leaders' actions and influence. Character enables leaders to build and maintain healthy communities while addressing critical problems with ethics and integrity. Where are you in terms of character?
Psalm 31:3
