Where Do You Stand Concerning Character?
Please take note, character prevents a leader from hurting those around them. A leader's fall can deeply hurt those close to him or her and others who have put their trust in them. This is one of the key reasons that I put no confidence in any man or woman, without first checking out their character. I don't care for their religious views. I want to see who or what they take their principles and character after. It can destroy not only their life but also the lives of his or her victims, the family of their victims, their own family members, their associated and their associates' families. Do you see the domino effect it has on having a poor character?
We as citizens of the Kingdom are supposed to be righteous representatives of the Kingdom of God. Jesus the King stated that we are the salt of the earth, the light of the world; but our character fails to reflect that. Many of us equate being religious to mean having good character. That is a lie from hell. There are so many wearing the banner of "Christian" on their sleeve who have poor character. Your character reflects your principles, and your principles reflect the laws that you live by.
The only way to stay focused on your vision and keep moving forward in the midst of the inevitable stress, criticism, attacks, temptations and setbacks that come with leadership is to develop personal character. The only way to contribute meaningfully to our generation is to maintain character. This is why I stress so many times that what you read, watch on TV or the net will effect you in some way or another.
Remember, having a good name is much more important than riches of this earth.
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches. Loving favor rather than silver and gold.
Proverbs 22:1
