Living in a World of Lust and Love
In our world, many people have mistaken lust for love. Keep in mind, that lust is an appetite and love is a choice. The Kingdom representative was absolutely correct when he stated in God's Constitution: For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
So many times I hear the phrase "young love", but in reality, it is lust operating in a young adult or teenager. Many of the dating services advertise lust and call it love. allow me to share with you the true characteristics of love from God's Constitution. Here is what God's ambassador of the kingdom stated: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Here is Webster's New World Dictionary's definition of "lust": 1) A desire to gratify the senses; bodily appetite 2) sexual desire; excessive sexual desire, especially as seeking unrestrained gratification 3) intense enthusiasm; zest 4) pleasure; inclination; to feel an intense desire, especially for sexual desire.
Now does that sound like something you are familiar with? Remember, love is making a choice. Take a few minutes to compare the two. Do you have the characteristics of love, or do you have the characteristics of lust?
Remember what I shared with you in my earlier writing, Abiding in God's Word, that this world is temporary? Read what the Constitution states: And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Love and lust are very different. In this world, it promotes lust under the guise of love. It is promoted through commercials, advertisements, entertainment and through the music. Remember, obeying God's Word is the key. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
