We Manage, We Never Own
The reason we are in trouble in the world is because of mismanagement, through greed. The only way out of this trouble is through righteous and wise management through Christ Jesus.
My question to you is, What is management? Management is the effective, efficient, correct and timely use of another person's property and resources for its intended purpose with an expectation of producing added value. Read that definition very carefully. Notice the individual words: effective--efficient--correct--timely--delegated--value. Remember you must recognize that you always manage another person's property, not your own property. You do not own anything anyway. You do not own the earth. You do not own anything that exists on the earth. You do not own the place where you work, in other words, your job. You do not own the business you claim is your own. You may have your name on it, but your business can be gone in one day. Whether you do it well or not, your responsibility is to manage that job. When the Lord God made the earth and filled it up with resources, the very next thing He had to do was to make a manager to take care of it. That manager was humankind. Men and women were given dominion over the earth's resources. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Notice, however, they were not given dominion over each other. God was still in charge of the people He had created. God the Creator set it up so that Adam and Eve would find it good to take care of every good thing that He had created. The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men. He wants us to take responsibility for the products of this planet called earth. Keep this in mind: God's divine goal was to extend the culture of the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. The culture of heaven is a culture of plenty; but only if it gets managed correctly. When God turned His attention to filing the earth with good things, He decided to create a people in His own image to manage it.
