Influencing Others Through the Kingdom
I realize that there are individuals that don't care to read or hear about the Kingdom of God because they view it as religious rhetoric. This is because religious institutions have used God's Constitution as a religious book down through the centuries. Now always remember these words: The word testament is a legal term, not a religious term. The Old Testament shows us God's unchanging character in actions from Genesis through Malachi. In the New Testament, Jesus was sent to restore what we had lost, a Kingdom.
If you take the time to study the New Testament, in the books of Matthew through Acts 1, you will learn that Jesus the King had only one message to teach and preach. After His time in the wilderness, being tempted of the devil, He started off running. "From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, 'Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand". Jesus was so concerned about getting it right, that He instructed His disciples on what to say and what to do. These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. Jesus even instructed them where to go and where not to go.
The message of the Kingdom was so important, that even after He had risen from the grave, He stayed here on earth another 40 days teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. "until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
Jesus wanted us to get the message correct, that He stayed an additional forty days. Now, how important should the message of the Kingdom be to us? He wants us to get it right. This is my purpose for being here, to ensure the correctness of the message of the Kingdom.
