Identifying With the "Christian" vs God's Word
Individuals all over this world, who want to identify themselves with Christ, call themselves "Christians". Jesus never called His disciples "Christians", nor did He instruct them to take up such a title or name. The first time you ever read or heard of that name was in the city of Antioch. "Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch." The very next time that you hear the word "Christian" mentioned was in the letter of 1st Peter. It was at that time that many started embracing the title "Christian". "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter." Paul made it very plain of these who believe in the Son of God. " To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours."
If you may or may not have noticed, Paul never mentioned the name "Christian" or any other religious name or denomination. Remember this, if people name you they will define you. Study God's last will and testament , take inventory of your life and see if it matches up with what He states in His Constitution. For it is that in which we shall be judged. For the saints shall judge the world; not religious individuals called "Christians". "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? " If you notice again the word "Christians" didn't come up. When you are prayerfully studying God's Word, please notice what is being said stated. Notice what is not being stated. There are things in the Word that are truly stated, but check to see if it is a statement of truth. A good example: "And he said: 'Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Question: Did God take it away? Read and study God's Constitution thoroughly.
Acts 11:25-26 I Peter 4:6 I Corinthians 1:2
I Corinthians 6:1-2 Job 1:21
