Divorce, Is Not an Option
Before I came, or I should say, excepted the knowledge of the truth, I used Moses' explanation of divorce and marriage. The reason why I was in denial was because I refused to except God's Word on divorce. It was an easy way out of a marriage. This is while I was a so-called "Christian". Now that I have embraced the full truth of the King's Word and His Kingdom, I have become obedient to the Holy Spirit and all He has to offer.
Jesus had this conversation with the religious people of His day while He was here on earth. The Pharisees asked Jesus "Well, okay, what about Moses? Are you saying the father of our law was wrong?" Read what the Pharisees said to Him: The Pharisees also came to Him testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?" Keep in mind this one thing. Moses faced a rough situation. As "leader and CEO", so to speak, over some three and a half million basically pagan people living in a wilderness, Moses had to rule over them and keep them as close to righteous living as he could. You must take some time to read God's Constitution in the book of Exodus. Now read what the King's answer to the religious people was ...Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning "made them male and female and said for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh"? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. Like so many religious people do today, they look for a reason to circumvent the King's Word. But King Jesus went back to the beginning. He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery". If you may or may not have noticed, Jesus referred back to the beginning. Why? Because divorce was never in God's heart. This is what the Kingdom of God is. Restoring what we have lost. We didn't lose a religion called "Christianity". We lost a Kingdom. That Kingdom is activated through our faith in His Word.
