The Self-Surrender of The Christ
Jesus was committed to proclaiming the Kingdom to the world. His focus was on self-surrender. After being tempted of the devil in the wilderness, the King's first and only message was the Kingdom of God. Now the first necessity of entrance into the Kingdom of God is self-surrender to the Father's Will. So His first assignment was to preach the Kingdom. Read: From that time Jesus began to preach and to say "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand". In order for one to truly live and serve the King, you must first surrender your selfish will for His divine Will. Jesus Himself uncovering the nature of His Father and the nature of the Kingdom of God, also obeyed the law of self-surrender. Having said that, what about your full surrender to the King? Remember, God the Father gave all authority to Jesus, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lord. Do you recall what Christ stated to His disciples? "...All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Now I want you to notice, He didn't say "making Christians" which is a religion. He said "make disciples" (learners). Once you read, study and embrace God's Word, you and His Word will become one. I am an example of that last statement.
So God, His Word and man become one. This is important, and it is most definitely true and not debatable: if you surrender yourself, you will live. But if you refuse to surrender yourself, you will decay and perish.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
Matthew 7:17 Matthew 28:18-20 Mark 8:35
