Putting Away Foolish Things
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
When we were in elementary school, we had recess time. We ran and played. We played hopscotch, tag, hide and seek and played on the monkey bars. But by the time we were in high school, and then college, recess went away. It was time to get serious, buckle down and get an education to prepare for our future.
Recently, I have been hearing the Father say "It's time to put away foolish things. It's time to get serious"
Foolish: lacking in sense, judgement and discretion; marked by a loss of composure. Play time is fun, but until you get educated in your calling, you will never fulfill God's purpose for your life. First, seek God to rid your mind of the pre-programmed notions of what a "move of God" is and allow Him to show you afresh what His presence feels like. Loud music, running, shouting, jumping, shaking, dancing may be a good show--recess--and feed our flesh; but with God's presence, comes repentance and healing. Lives and minds are changed. You will truly know that you have been in God's presence. It will bring you to your knees. Allow Him to show you your world through His eyes. It will revolutionize your way of thinking.
Second, give Him your tongue. We, as citizens of the Kingdom of God, have to be people of the Word of God who only speak when and what God says to speak. Remove foolish talk from your mouth. Allow the Holy Spirit to quicken your spirit every time you speak a word that is foolish, disrespectful, hurtful and goes against the Word of God. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. Whoa! That's enough to shut every mouth! The tongue can be deadly. When uncontrolled, it is like walking around with a loaded gun with no safety! Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
It is almost graduation time. We are being called out to prepare the Bride of Christ, that must be without spot or wrinkle, for His return. It is God's Word that cleanses, but foolish words soil.
You will find by submitting your tongue to God, the more wisdom you get, the less you will speak. But when you speak, your words will have anointed power!
