A Word About Your Words
Words create. Words frame your world. Words change the atmosphere. Words build up and words tear down. Take a moment and think about what your words are doing in your life.
We were created in God's Image. Jesus made us 'joint heirs' with Him. Through Him, we are sons of God, our Father. God created our world with WORDS. He spoke it into existence. If you believe everything I have just said, why would you not believe how powerful your words are! "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." That power is a double-edged sword. Our words can be for our benefit or for our downfall. So much of our speech is nothing more than idle, negative chatter.
Recognize the creative and destructive power of your words in your life. So often, we want to blame our situation in life on outside circumstances and the devil. Examine your words honestly. Change your words and, in time, your world will change.
Become aware of the words coming out of your mouth and their effect. Are you speaking fear, anger, poverty, hate and other negativity into your atmosphere? Remember the "prince and power of the air" will take those negative words and "run with them", wreaking havoc in your life! (...in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience)
Today I want to encourage us all to watch our words. They are the building blocks of our world.
“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Matthew 12:31-37 emphasis on vs 36-37 Ephesians 2:2
