Embracing A Season of Change
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
November 1st was a very windy day...a "blustery day". I sat in my living room, watching the trees sway and listening to the wind whip and God spoke down in my spirit: "Do you hear that wind blowing outside? It is the wind of change.... change is coming... quickly....even before November ends... for My name's sake, it is coming." At that time, I thought it was a personal word and welcomed and embraced it!
Life had felt like a huge "log jam" for all of 2013 & 2014. Have you ever seen a log jam? I grew up in a city that was built on lumbering. It was on a river. The lumber companies harvested forests and sent the logs downriver. That was their main means of transporting the logs. Workers were out on the river, using long poles to keep the logs flowing because a big log jam would stop the flow..nothing moved. The water slowed and even dammed up if the jam was big enough.
Well, that's how life felt. Nothing was moving; to the point of the water becoming stagnant! As 2014 began, there was a trickle of movement, but nothing had broken free yet. I was still waiting for prayers to be answered and situations changed. When that word came on November 1st, things broke loose and things began to change. Prayers I had prayed for more than a year were answered and things were suddenly changing and it's not over yet. As the month progressed, I realized this word wasn't just for me. We are seeing great changes. Next year, by this time, I believe life will look very different for many believers. It truly is a season of change that will carry on well into 2015. A "changing of the guard", a widening divide between those who "do church" and those who "are the church". Lines will be drawn and made more clear. More people will chose whether they will be accepted by the community or they will embrace God's Word as unchangeable.
The only things in life that are unchangeable are God, His Word and your purpose for being here. Everything else seasonally changes. Embrace the changes. Be enthusiastic and thankful for what is coming. Be excited as it all unfolds in your life.. I am!
Do not resist change and the challenges it brings, or you may miss so much of what God has for you. God brings change, but gives you the option of embracing or rejecting it. Trust God and dive in! Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Change brings bumps and jolts; but when it settles in, life will be better than it was. See the beauty in change. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3 Proverbs 3:5-6 Romans 8:28
