God is my pilot... well at least that is my desire. As such, there are times when it feels like I'm treading water, going nowhere and there are "ah-ha!" moments where I see God's hand directing.
My husband and I like to go for long drives. We just get in the car and drive, going places we've never gone. We will be driving down an unfamiliar road, not feeling lost, but having no idea where we are. Suddenly, we will see a familiar landmark and know exactly where we are. We are not at our destination, but we know we are on the right road.
When God is your pilot, there are those same little moments of not having a clue if you are on the right road and those "ah-ha" moments when you know you are heading in the right direction. Allow God to direct your steps... every moment can be a God moment.
When we allow Him to "lead us in paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake" ministry opportunities are everywhere. Something we say or do will meet a need or confirm God's word to someone. We are His representatives here on this Earth. Most of the time, giving someone a "word from the Lord" is not a religious sounding "thus saith the Lord" moment. It is a simple comment that is a confirmation of what He has already been telling them. We are His hands, His eyes, His smile, His voice. We represent! How are we doing? What a wonderful... but weighty... responsibility! That is why is it so important to KNOW God's Word. It keeps us on the right path, even when it seems a meandering, pointless path.
"Your Word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." Psalm 119:105
"Your Word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You." Psalm 119:11
Read the whole 119th Psalm.
It's long, but it is wonderful!
Be blessed... Arlene
