Becoming a Kingdom Citizen Part 1
Remember what Jesus stated in Luke: The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. "Everyone is forcing his way into it" Once people learn about the Kingdom, they can't wait to get in it! Now picture in your mind all of those would-be immigrants desperately clamoring to cross the border and then you will see exactly what Jesus meant.
The question is the, why don't we see people clamoring to get into the church? Why does the church as a whole seem to have so little impact on our culture?
The reason is very simple, and sad. Most pastors don't understand the kingdom, so they don't preach it. You can't appropriate something that you don't understand. (This is the reason the Lord Jesus the Christ had my wife Arlene and I develop our website www.KingdomCitizens.org. This is why I maintain my purpose and enjoy doing so. This site is about government (Kingdom government) not about any religion.) Consequently, most people don't understand the Kingdom concept, even though many may even attend church at least twice a week. So they don't model Kingdom living. Many think it is about dying and then going to heaven, but in reality, it is about restoring what we have lost (a kingdom). Jesus made this statement: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. Jesus also likened the Kingdom of God like a dragnet: “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
Remember, all nations, including kingdoms, have citizens. And all nations require immigration status. The Kingdom is no different. Every Kingdom citizen today is a naturalized citizen. Keep in mind, we emigrated from a foreign country; a dominion of darkness. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, That is where we as a race had been exiled since Adam's rebellion in the Garden of Eden. At that time the human race lost it's citizenship in heaven. We lost our citizenship because we lost our Kingdom, and we lost our Kingdom because we lost our property and territory. Don't forget that without territory, there is no Kingdom, and without a Kingdom, there definitely is no citizenship.
